Learning 2.0

Learning 2.0 completion

I have really enjoyed this course and I have gained a little more knowledge and Internet skills.
From here I will certainly practice what I have learned so far and continue to explore the cyberspace for more learning skills.

“Phew” I will now have little more time to repair my computer as it crashed a few times. Even at the time writing this I didn’t think I would have been able to finish this course.
To anyone out there who may bother to read this blog?
Enjoy the 2.0 Learning Program I certainly did.

Regards Slim.

Google Docs

To be able to create an online document available to other participants at the same time, so that they can work on this document together, but not necessarily from the same locality is fantastic. The time this saves by not having to mail the document to other departments but being able to send this instantly anywhere around the globe has to be a winner.

There are many other aspect's of online application tools that saves in other areas as well, such as: computer problems (there is nothing more frustrating than turning on your computer and finding out the Hard-Drive with all of your document has crashed).

You can continue Working on your document at home:
It is only recently that we have we been able to use a thumb drive in our workplace due to that our IT management removed all access to our floppy disk-drives and without any DVD/CD burning facilities available.
Google Docs is great for students, Library Internet users, Library staff, sending a document to your blog and the list goes on.

Mashups

I really like the concept of joining a number of web applications and making one complete Mashup.
I can think of quite a number of mashups we can use for advertising the Library on the web i.e. an Advents Calendar, Maps with the locations of our Libraries etc.

I like to adventure a lot more with all of this but I’m running short of time.

Podcasts and Vodcasts

Podcasting and Vodcasting is yet again another wonderful form of communication, created in this technological age we live in today. Amazing just by pressing the right buttons, we find information printed out or presented in audio format, with visual stills or in moving picture format. Wow!
You can, without spending too much money, communicate visually to someone all around the globe, “how connected have we have become”.
None of this would have been possible without the greatest inventions of this age. “The Computer and the Internet”.
The two combined have made the world of information available to almost all of mankind and one would hope a better place to live in. Slim.
